Past Projects & Clients

Some of my favo(u)rites from over the years..

UK National Relaxed Performance Project

I co-founded and chaired the UK's National Relaxed Performance Project (2011-2013) with Kirsty Hoyle & Jeremy Newton, catalyzing a nascent global movement in inclusivity in theatres for people with severe autism, their families and communities. Co-developed with Society of London Theatre, UK Theatre (TMA), Prince's Foundation, National Theatre, Ambassador Theatre Group, and the Unicorn Theatre, the project saw 60% of families visit the theatre together for the first time and 30% of whom had never been to the theatre.

Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies | British Council

I launched and led the £9m Developing Inclusive & Creative Economies (DICE) international pilot for the British Council which sought to support progress on the Sustainable Development Goals through a new model for global programming, international development, and grant-giving. We focused on two critical issues through art, social enterprise, policy, and trust-building within and between Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa and the UK

• Rising unemployment, underemployment and poor-quality employment prospects for young people in emerging economies
• The lack of inclusive economic development in emerging economies which can translate into instability, political disaffection and reduced economic growth

The Fore

As expert advisor, reviewing applications to The Fore, an independent, cross-sector funding body for ‘turbo-charging’ social enterprises and charities through unrestricted grants and wraparound support.
- Providing tailored critical friendship to grantees and applicants during funding and monitoring and evaluation rounds, including undertaking due diligence, interviews, and feedback sessions. Pictured - Let Me Know, one charity I supported through funding process.

British Council Venice Fellowship Program

I overhauled and led this flagship program recruiting and training young artists as ambassadors to Sir John Akomfrah's exhibition at the 60th International Venice Arts Biennale, with brief to widen access and diversity of intake. My work included consultation with 50+ arts organizations & universities to understand barriers to entry to the arts and redesigned entire program structure to foster applications from more diverse backgrounds and socio-economic groups.

Between 2023 and 2024 applications doubled, with 70% having experienced barriers to entry into the arts. Accepted fellows doubled; the proportion with a disability doubled from 15% to 28%; the proportion identifying as ‘non-white background’ rose from 32% to 48%. ‘

For the first time in its 125-year history, the Venice Biennale has people who have been homeless, incarcerated or have full-time carers representing the United Kingdom.

There You Go Again: Orwell Comes to America (2007)

In his classic essay “Politics and the English Language,” George Orwell described political speech as consisting “largely of euphemism, question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness.” Six decades later, the tactics of disinformation and manipulation diagnosed by Orwell persist on the political battlefield, along with new propaganda techniques made possible by advances in scientific knowledge and modern technology.
"There You Go Again: Orwell Comes to America" invited historians, linguists, cogniti...

Strategic planning with and for the Museum Directors of this partnership.
