An intercultural dialogue about class, connection and climate anxiety
through an embodied and joyous (if simulated) flight experience.
I have facilitated workshops for twenty years, but yearned for a pure communal space, one that promotes safe risk-taking and builds true rapport. I conceived Business Class to to explore unspoken fears and half-baked principles with a solemn levity. We convene with ‘the other’, outside of an echo-chamber, self-selecting conference or ‘democratic’ roundtable. Together we can take the first step in systems change -trust building – the critical if oft-rushed (or worse, forgotten) phase.
Although the format is lighthearted, Business Class has a serious purpose.
Discussions over climate, exclusion and inequality can be overwhelming, off-putting or even depressing, often dominated by a few loud voices.
This new creative methodology uses imagination and inclusive play to stimulate conversation about difficult subjects while encouraging optimism, kinship and shared action.
